As a hispanic female in the STEM field, I feel as though it is important to me that I recieve any opportunity that will allow me to share my knowlege with my community, which is why I am more than thankful to have been sent to Pasadena, California for the HENAAC Conference. Growing up, I did not necessarily know that women could be scientists, however that changed as soon as I entered high school. I found that being a latina woman going into the sciences is pushing all boundaries that society has molded for women in the past. I am more than grateful to have so many opportunities bestowed upon myself that encompass the field of science. Being in the sciences has benefited me by knowing people in scientific corrporations, non-profit organizations and engineering companies that would like to stay in touch with me for my future endeavors.
